Client review policy

Who can submit a review, how moderation works, what verified client means and how ratings are calculated.

Who can submit a review

Signed-in users can submit a review on a claimed lawyer profile. Unclaimed listings do not currently accept reviews. Owners cannot review their own profiles, and an account can have only one pending or published review for the same lawyer.

Describe your own experience honestly. Do not submit fabricated experiences, paid or incentivized reviews, promotional spam, threats or private client information. The submission form asks you to confirm the experience is your own and that you were not offered anything for the review.

Legacy reviews from the previous directory are not imported into this review system.

Reviews go through moderation

Submissions are pending until a moderator publishes or rejects them. Moderators change publication status rather than rewriting the review's substance. Published reviews are not a complete record of all submissions.

Positive and negative experiences should be assessed under the same standards. A low rating or criticism alone is not a reason to reject a review. Moderation may address fabricated content, spam, threats, personal information or other policy violations.

Lawyers cannot directly delete client reviews. A report may prompt moderation, but purchasing marketing services or disliking criticism does not entitle a lawyer to removal.

What “verified client” means here

The current label is assigned when the reviewer's account email matches an inquiry to the lawyer and that inquiry has been marked as a client by the lawyer. This is an on-platform record match, not independent proof of a retainer or the outcome of a case.

The label does not verify each factual assertion in a review. Reviews without that label can still describe genuine experiences.

Ratings and lawyer responses

The displayed average uses published star ratings and the displayed count reflects published reviews. Pending and rejected reviews do not contribute to the average. The profile shows up to 50 recent published reviews.

A profile owner can post or update a response to a published review. A response is the lawyer's statement, not an editorial finding. Responses should avoid confidential details and address the experience respectfully.

Reporting a review concern

Use the lawyer profile's report option, choose Something else and identify the review by its title or date. Explain the specific accuracy, privacy or authenticity concern without adding confidential case material.

Submitting a report does not automatically remove the review. There is no self-service review-editing feature at present; a correction request can be described in the same report.
