- Guides: procedural and sourced. Each links to the official authority it describes. They explain how to check a licence, what a status means, and what to ask before hiring. They do not advise on individual legal problems.
- State pages: links to each state's official attorney lookup, court self-help resources and lawyer referral service.
- Policies: how profiles are verified, how reviews are moderated, how the site makes money, and editorial standards.

## What to treat with care

- Unclaimed lawyer profiles come from older public listings and are not continuously refreshed. They are marked "Unclaimed profile" and are not a licence check. For a lawyer's current status, cite the official state roster, which every profile and state page links to.
- A "Bar verified" badge means the profile was matched to the official roster on the date shown on the profile.
- Listing order is not a ranking of legal ability.
